Research

Our group aims at developing polymer based selective sorbents to capture various proteins from biological samples. Selectivity is either achieved by molecular imprinting of the target protein, or by using monomers in an optimized ratio that possess special functional groups capable of multipoint interactions with the protein. The sorbents are prepared in nanoparticle format or as a thin layer on a magnetic nanoparticle core.

Our group is also active in developing new liquid and gas chromatograhic methodologies starting from sample preparation through separation to detection (UV, DAD, fluorescence, evaporative light scattering, refractive index for LC and FID, MS for GC) for various industrial and biological samples. Special attention is paid to the development of LC and GC methods to identify and quantitate bioactive compounds of plant origin.
