Research

In our research group, we conduct interdisciplinary research that integrates knowledge from several disciplines, e.g. from chemical, biological, physical and engineering fields. The aim of our research is to understand and investigate biomolecular interactions and develop both point-of-care rapid tests and high-throughput analytical devices for medical diagnostic applications. In part of our work we mainly study homologous and heterologous interactions between proteins and nucleic acids (or their artificial analogues). These selective receptors integrated in sensors provide an opportunity for sensitive recognition of biomarkers, such as antigens, microRNAs or even viruses through their spike protein. Our research group also cooperates with several universities and research institutes from many countries. For more information on our research projects please see our website.
